Why nitrous oxide?

Nitrous oxide is an anesthetic and, in small doses, has pain-relieving, anxiolytic, and, to a lesser extent, analgesic effects. It induces a kind of "foggy" state and elevates the patient's mood. With repeated use, habituation (tolerance) may develop. To achieve the desired effect, an increasingly large amount of gas is required. This, in turn, can lead to psychological dependence. However, physical dependence is not known. No significant impairment of the heart or other organs is known.

The treatment/inhalation should be carried out while sitting or lying down, as dizziness or loss of consciousness can lead to serious injuries from falls.
