Oxygen cylinder for the doctor's office

The appropriate cylinder depends on whether it is used in a mobile emergency kit or mainly kept stationary. Small cylinders are lightweight and quickly available; larger cylinders provide a longer calculated operating time at the same flow.

• 0.3 to 1 litre: very compact for medical bags and mobile emergency equipment
• 2 litres: a commonly chosen compromise between mobility and gas supply
• 3 to 5 litres: more reserve while keeping space requirements manageable
• 10 litres: for larger reserves and mainly stationary use

A conventional oxygen cylinder usually requires a suitable pressure regulator. Depending on the application, an oxygen mask, nasal cannula, tubing or other accessories may also be required. With cylinders featuring an integrated combination valve, a separate pressure regulator may not be necessary depending on the design. Medical oxygen is a medicinal product. The use-by date shown on the cylinder is authoritative; for our fillings, the use-by period is generally 35 months from filling. The compressed-gas cylinder itself is also subject to technical inspection intervals. The oxygen use-by date and the cylinder's technical inspection interval must be considered separately.
